Kevin Franklin began teaching professionally in 1981 and soon became a busy performer and private instructor. Through this experience, Kevin saw what was missing in local music stores. He seized the opportunity to create his own store, Guitarworks, with one goal in mind: to provide the client with a higher caliber of service and professionalism. Over 27 years later, Guitarworks is still going strong with an unparalleled lesson program, the Midwest's most impressive instrument show room, and a hand-picked staff of people you'll actually like.
He's a big fan of Monty Python, Kansas & bananas. He still mourns the passing of Dobro, the rock-n-roll wiener dog.
Kevin pretty much lives at Guitarworks, and makes his home in Brown County. Kevin and his wife, Rene, have been married for 23 years and have three children and one grandchild.
